Useful Hacks

Meta Tags Analyzer

See the actual live meta tags on any public page — title, description, Open Graph, Twitter Card and more.

This is one of three tools on this site that need a server-side connection: reading an arbitrary page's live HTML is blocked in-browser by CORS for most sites, so a server has to fetch the page and extract its tags. The URL you enter is used only to make that one request and is not logged or stored.
  • Shows exactly what's live on the page right now, not what you think you published.
  • Title and description come with the same 60/160-character length status used across this site's other SEO tools.
  • Groups Open Graph and Twitter Card tags separately so a missing social-share tag is easy to spot.
  • The URL is fetched server-side only for this one request — never logged or stored.

Overview

Fetches a public page's actual HTML and extracts its live meta tags — title, meta description, canonical URL, robots directive, viewport, charset, every Open Graph and Twitter Card tag, and anything else in the <head> — a direct complement to Meta Tags Generator, which builds new tags rather than checking existing ones.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter a page's full URL.
  2. 2Click Analyze.
  3. 3Review title/description length, canonical, robots, and every Open Graph/Twitter tag found.
