Overview
XIRR calculates the annualized return of a series of cash flows that occur on irregular dates — such as multiple SIP top-ups, redemptions and a final withdrawal. A quick-fill mode auto-generates the rows for a regular recurring investment, so a real SIP doesn't need to be typed in one row at a time.
How to use it
- 1For a regular SIP: switch to "Recurring investment," enter the amount, frequency, start/end dates and current value, then generate the rows automatically.
- 2For irregular cash flows: use Manual entry — add each cash flow with its date and amount (negative for money invested, positive for money received).
- 3Add the final value as a positive cash flow on today's date.
- 4The XIRR is solved numerically and shown as an annualized percentage.
